Biography

Mr. Jahangir Alam is the pioneer regular teaching faculty at the Department of Political Science, University of Chitral. He did his Graduation (Political Science, Law and History as major Subjects) and Masters in Political Science from the prestigious University of the country, Government College University Lahore (GCUL) – titled as ‘Oxford of Asia’. While studying at GCU, he was the founding member of the Ravians Law Society and worked as an Executive Member and Co-ordinator of the said Society. He had the opportunity to resume his duties as an office bearer of the Political Science Society, Government College University Lahore. After his Masters in Political Science (M.A), he joined Government Degree College for Boys, Chitral as a Lecturer in Political Science on contract basis and taught there for one year. He had been appointed as a Lecturer in Political Science at Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan, Chitral Campus on regular basis in January 10, 2013. He has the honour to join Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan, Chitral Campus as a first regular teaching faculty and worked as the first Chairman of the Department of Political Science. He served as Chairman of the Department of Political Science, AWKUM Chitral Campus Thrice and remained as Chairman of the Disciplinary Committee of the Campus for more than Three years. He also worked as Seminar Incharge of the Campus for more than one year. Apart from that, he also worked as a Lecturer in Political Science at Main Campus Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan for one year where he did his M.Phil in Political Science and remained the topper of the Department when Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan was the first ranked University of Pakistan. He joined the University of Chitral when the Campus of Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan and Shaheed Benazir Bhutto University Sheringal merged and upgraded to a University (University of Chitral). Since then he is teaching as a Lecturer in Political Science at the Department of Political Science, University of Chitral. He has the honour to serve the University of Chitral as a Chief Proctor twice (for about three years). Currently, he is a Ph.D Scholar at the Department of Political Science, University of Peshawar.

He joined the University of Chitral when the Campus of Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan and Shaheed Benazir Bhutto University Sheringal merged and upgraded to a University (University of Chitral). Since then he is teaching as a Lecturer in Political Science at the Department of Political Science, University of Chitral. He has the honour to serve the University of Chitral as a Chief Proctor twice (for about three years). Currently, he is a Ph.D Scholar at the Department of Political Science, University of Peshawar.
